Producers control who moves on

According to TheThings.com, the producers of AGT have complete control over the acts that go place on stage.

The judges’ votes are supposed to count for a contender, however, a Redditor verifies that they don’t.

The people candidates need to impress are the producers in order to continue on the program.

Fans were shocked by golden buzzer snub

The season premiere was received with backlash by fans after 11-year-old contestant D'Corey Johnson received a standing ovation from the judges and audience for his rendition of Journey's Open Arms - but didn't get a golden buzzer from the judges, which allows an act to go straight to the live shows without having to audition again.

One fan complained: "He deserved the golden buzzer tbh."

To that, another fan agreed: "Definitely!"

"Yes, he did," replied another.

Another viewer added: "Should’ve gotten the golden buzzer he was so good."

Premiere ratings dropped this year

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal that America’s Got Talent  premiere ratings weren’t as high as the prior season.

The premiere episode brought in 5.9million viewers.

This is compared to the Season 17 premiere that had 6.3million viewers on May 31, 2022.

The season ended on September 15, 2022 with 6.8million viewers.

Nightbirde was moved by the group before their audition

Nightbirde was deeply moved by the cover of her song It's Okay by the Mzansi Youth Choir, from South Africa - months before the group appeared on AGT.

Nightbirde found their version "amazing" when they sent it via Facebook to her in late 2021 and her brother said his "baby sister" would be "so proud."

"I believe she's looking down now watching all of this, so proud to see that group do such an amazing job with her song," he said.

"She had seen it before. They had posted it on her Facebook. I remember her calling me about it, and was like, 'Oh, this choir did this thing. It was amazing.'

"She was so excited. Not only did it inspire those people to do good in their community, but it inspired them to go to AGT to honor the way that she had impacted them.

"She replied back to them at being humbled and excited they’d put together a cover so beautifully."
